Sharp

    I think its supposed to be a hawk, but it resembles one of my chickens an awful lot XD I'm not so good at making stuff look fierce. It was really fun drawing this, nonetheless! Also, I want to give a huge shout out to EyeOfTheKat for such an amazing photo which I used as reference. She's no doubt a very talented photographer! I'd highly suggest giving her page a look!

    So I actually learned a lot about colour in this project. My original shading had terrible colour choice and overall was very dull and neutral. Take a look at it's inferiority xD sta.sh/01m0sxkjs9si
Yeah, it was pretty ugly. And then I decided "You know what? Let's just forget about replicating the same colours" and then this happened sta.sh/01zpaz58bq3p I then went on to layer on a more mellow set of oranges and yellows and it came out far greater than I had anticipated! I went out on a limb and threw in hints of green, red and purple to to finish off. I may go back and add some feathering on the back of the head but that's for another day.

    Here's a comparison to a very similar piece I drew back in January fav.me/d9me0hg I guess in some sense, I did manage to achieve my goal!

    I can't express how much I learned about colours just by doing this! Venturing out into the unknown to do what you're unconformable is one of the fastest ways to learn. I personally feel like this piece contains the best composition of any of my artworks to date. Colour me impressed! (See what I did there?) xD
